Are you
plagued by telemarketer calls? Ever wanted to really stick it to
them? How about just getting rid of them. Now, that
is really sticking it to them.
I read about someone who was selling a device that played three tones when the phone was answered. Those three tones were supposed to the tones that the phone company uses to indicate a disconnected phone. The theory is that the predictive dialers that these companies use will disconnect on this tone and mark the number as non functioning in the database. Sounds too good to be true, but the tones were offered in a wav file so I figured it was worth a try. I played these tones at the lead of my answering machines messaged, followed by my normal greeting. To my surprise, within two days, the number of calls had dramatically decreased. Since then, I've had almost NO telemarketer calls for over a week, now. Give it a try.
