This might relate to several threads regarding FrostWire searches starting then stopping several seconds later and losing your Internet Connection (I also noticed my Modem would disappear from my Network Folder). This problem for me has been ongoing since FrostWire v5.3.4 was released and I have tried each new release but still had the same problem and always had to reboot my computer and revert back to FrostWire v5.3.3.

Today, I worked out what the problem is…. ‘AVG Accelerator’ which is only included in AVG Anti-Virus 2012 and AVG Internet Security 2012. It’s main function is to accelerate streaming of YouTube videos. When FrostWire starts searching ‘AVG Accelerator” also activates and causes the above problems. I also realised that FrostWire v5.3.4 was the first version to include ‘YouTube’ in the Search Engines list.

There are 2 options to fix this problem:
1. In FrostWire’s Search Engines list, uncheck ‘YouTube’
    Or
2. Open the AVG User Interface - On the ‘Tools’ menu, click ‘Advanced settings’ - On the left pane expand ‘LinkScanner’ then click ‘Online Shield’ and uncheck ‘Enable AVG Accelerator’ then click ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’ to save the settings.

I am now running FrostWire v5.3.7 without any problems.
